Honorary send off for the 48th Brigade Ga. Army National Guard deploying to Afghanistan We want to let everyone know the city of Macon will be honoring the 48th BDE Army National Guard being deployed to Afghanistan, on Wednesday 22 April at 3:00 P.M.. 250 soldiers will begin marching from the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame down Cherry Street to Cotton Avenue to end up at Macon City Hall.  The Governor, Sonny Perdue, local dignitaries and military leaders will honor these fine soldiers for their bravery in serving the United States of America.  Our goal is to have Cherry Street to Cotton Avenue up to Macon City Hall lined with American Citizens holding American Flags and waving Yellow Ribbons to the soldiers for a send off. PLEASE, we need your help getting the word out  So mark your calendar’s and bring a friend to honor of Military men and women of the 48th Brigade of Macon. These soldiers will deploy on the 24th of April 2009!!!
